This lucky man won a £1,000-hamper in a competition run by the Ashley Centre and Epsom Guardian.
Gavin Elkin, 28, from Riverview Road, Ewell, picked up his prize on Wednesday after being randomly chosen from the 144 people who entered.
Mr Elkin, a travel insurance claims manager, said: “I’m really, really chuffed. “It’s a good time to win what with Christmas and all.”
Mr Elkin had to answer what festive treat shoppers were being asked to bake to find Surrey’s finest in order to win the hamper packed with goodies from centre retailers.
The correct answer was mince pies.
The Ashley Centre and Epsom Guardian teamed up when the winner of the centre's Golden Ticket competition at the Christmas lights switch-on turned down the prize.
They were unfortunately related to a staff member and felt they could not accept the prize.
So the centre put the up for grabs prize again, just in time for Christmas.
