DHL workers donate Christmas bonus to Queen Mary's Hospital for Children

A logistics company donated their Christmas bonus to a children’s hospital.

Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children, based at St Helier Hospital, received a cheque for £1,000 from the Hackbridge based logistics firm DHL.

The staff can spend their bonus on anything they want. However, this year they decided to donate it to the hospital.

Foreman Paul Pinn said: “We could spend it on an evening out for all the boys if we wanted to, but this is a far better way of using the money. 

“It feels great to be able to help children who are poorly in hospital at this time of the year.”

Last year the DHL reward was £750 and they spent it on gifts and toys which were handed out to children at Queen Mary’s.

This year's donation will be spent on equipment and toys for the children’s ward.
