Children with special educational needs are getting some hands on experience.

Every Monday year 11 pupils from Carew Manor School, in Wallington, have been spending the day at Carshalton College gaining an insight into the different vocational subjects.

The youngsters end their day with a session in Pulse Gym and they will achieve an accredited qualification in preparing for college life.

Tracey Temple, assistant head teacher at Carew Manor School said: “Our learners thoroughly enjoy the courses offered at Carshalton College.

"They are developing independence skills and respond well to practical work related learning in the courses offered.

"Pupils have a range of opportunities to develop employability skills for when they leave school”.
