2:50pm Monday 7th January 2013 in News By Sophia Sleigh, Reporter
A world leading cancer hospital is holding its annual 14-mile sponsored walk.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity’s Marsden March sees thousands of people padding the streets between the hospital’s two bases in Chelsea and Sutton.
There is also a five mile walk for youngsters.
Celebrity supporters including actors Larry Lamb and Nathaniel Parker and pop star Richard Fairbrass will take part in the event on Sunday March 17.
Amanda Heaton, community fundraising and development manager, from the Royal Marsden, said: “We are really excited about the third annual Marsden March.
"The day promises to be a fun day for all age groups and is designed to appeal to all levels of walkers.
"We had so much fun last year and everyone who took part in the 14 and five-mile walk experienced a real sense of achievement when they reached the finish line and were presented with their medal.”
All funds will go to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity which supports the Royal Marsden and will help to provide the best possible care and treatment for people affected by cancer.
