Plans considered for building play area next to Brighton Road car park
Plans are being considered to create a children's playground next to Brighton Road car park.
Sutton South Area Committee last month voted in favour of allocating funds to put one of the wards' green spaces to good use.
Ward councillor Tony Shields said: "I will be the first to say that the small area outside the multi-storey car park on Brighton Road is not in any way a favourable spot for a child's play area but frankly it is the only piece of land in the ward that will lend itself.
The ward has seen a marked increase in children living in flats with no outside play area. The police raise no issues and the car park has the benefit of the only public loo left in Sutton, a welcome benefit for mums and dads alike."

This site is also on the 'way home' for a lot of late night revelers who might fancy a quick go on the swings as they head pass in the early hours.
I can also see the that some of the late night youths who loiter around the garage in the summer may also be tempted to venture in for a 'play' as too - if this area is not very well secured.
