A man in his 50s was found unconscious at the wheel of his car yesterday, forcing the closure of three roads.
The police were called to Ruxley Lane area in Epsom by the South East Coast Ambulance Service when the man was discovered, just before 2pm on January 7.
An air ambulance was called and landed on the playing fields at Epsom and Ewell High School. The man was treated at the scene before being taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Road closures were put in place along Ruxley Lane, Chessington Road and Gatley Avenue while emergency crews attended to the man and his car was removed. The closures were lifted at 3.15pm.
