Neighbours say plans to make changes to a storage building have been met with opposition from neighbours who say the changes could damage the character of the area.
Sutton Councillors will decide whether to allow a plan to install skylights, a new atrium and make other changes to a building in Francis Road, Wallington, at a meeting tonight.
The council has received more than 10 objections to the proposal on a range of grounds including that the changes will be detrimental to the area's Victorian character, that the building is not suitable for business use and that their homes could be devalued.
The council's planning officers has recommended councillors on the development control committee give the scheme the go-ahead despite the objections.
The development control committee will meet at the Civic Centre in St Nicholas Way tonight from 7.30pm.
