A special event is to be held for residents and businesses to find out more about Elmbridge Council’s plans and priorities and have their say on local issues.
The Let’s Talk Elmbridge: Priorities and Prospects event will allow people to find out more about council services, including Olympic highlights, textile recycling, changes to housing allocations and volunteering.
Police will also be there to discuss community safety issues.
After the marketplace event, there will then be a public presentation and question and answer session.
This event is in the run up to the setting of the council’s budget and plans for 2013-14.
The council will also offer the opportunity for residents to find out more about the new five year vision, described as building: “A confident and cohesive community with a thriving local economy and cherished environment served by quality public services delivered cost effectively.”
Leader of the council, Councillor John O’Reilly, said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to find out about local services, the council’s plans over the coming year and our longer term plans for the future.”
Coun O’Reilly and Elmbridge’s chief executive Rob Moran will also answer questions.
The event will be held on January, 22, from 6pm. Residents are invited to register for their place online at elmbridge.gov.uk/Council/information/prospectsandpriorities13.htm.
