Typical New Year’s resolutions involve taking up exercise, giving up alcohol, smoking or losing weight and are usually given up on before the end of January.

A common resolution you will be able to keep up with is getting your finances in order and spending less, with a little help from Elmbridge’s More card.

With households still under financial pressure and the economic situation not improving quickly, everyone needs a helping hand to spend less and make a few savings, which is where the More card scheme can help.

The scheme gives card holders discounts and special offers at businesses, retailers, bars, restaurants, and leisure activities.

The card is available to everyone and carries a range of benefits. The card is free to over 60s, £10 to Elmbridge residents and £5 per child.

Councillor Jan Fuller, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: “The more card is a great and affordable scheme that benefits residents and local retailers and businesses.

“It will contribute to boost the local economy and with discounts available at the Elmbridge Xcel leisure complex, Hurst Pool and on the Shout! Holiday Activities for children, it gives everybody the opportunity to keep active and entertained for less.”
