A woman was held at knifepoint and robbed next to a children’s play area.
The 47-year-old woman had a knife held to her neck and was punched in the face after being approached by a male and female in Collingwood Recreation Ground, Sutton, between 6.15-6.30pm on Wednesday.
They grabbed her handbag before making off on foot towards Gander Green Lane.
The victim was taken to hospital with bruising, a cut to her lips and damage to her teeth.
One suspect is described as mixed race black male, aged 18-20, 6ft tall and of slim build. He is described as having a bushy Afro ponytail.
The other suspect is a white female, aged about 16, 5ft 3in tall and wearing new-looking white Nike trainers.
Detective Constable Nicola Pycock, of Sutton’s Burglary and Robbery Investigation Team, said incidents like this in Sutton are rare.
She said: “We want the public’s help to catch those responsible.”
