The only winner this weekend was the snow - as it wiped out large swathes of action on both field and running track.

In the Ryman League, only Dulwich Hamlet's Division One South clash against Maidstone came close to being played - only to be called off 30 minutes before kick off.

The Hamlet postponement means that all 33 fixtures across the Ryman League will need to be rearranged.

Unsurprisingly, the same fate befell the Combined Counties League and the Kent League.

Just three games went ahead in League Two, however AFC Wimbledon knew they would not turning out at Accrington Stanley when the game was called off as early as Friday morning.

Rugby union was hit equally as hard with the snow accounting for all matches in the SSE London & SE Divisions - as well as Rosslyn Park's outing to Coventry in National League One.

The hockey programme was decimated as well, with only a smattering of games being played across the south.

However, our local teams did not get out of the dressing room.

Even the region's athletes stayed in the warm when the Hercules Wimbledon v Bank of England Mob Match in Richmond Park was postponed.
