Boris Johnson wants pensioners to know their rights
Around 2,800 pensioners in Sutton are missing out on an extra £35 a week in benefits.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, is urging pensioners and carers to check they are receiving all the benefits they are entitled to as part of this year’s Know Your Rights campaign.
Mr Johnson said: "As temperatures plummet many households face extra pressure on their budgets as their fuel bills increase.
"I would urge pensioners to pick up the phone and make one simple call to check they are receiving all the financial support they are entitled to."
It has also been revealed that carers are also not claiming all the benefits that they are entitled to - with many of them missing out on up to £58.45 a week in carer’s benefits.
