MP Tom Brake signs a board congratulating Post Office
An MP has expressed his relief at a ruling meaning drivers will still be able to use Post Offices to renew tax and licences.
Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake says the Post Office and the Department for Transport renewing their deal to allow DVLA services to be available at Post Office branches is good news.
To show his support Mr Brake joined other MPs in signing a congratulations board during an event at the House of Commons.
He said: "I am relieved that we will be able to continue to use our local Post Office branches to access DVLA services.
"When it comes to renewing their tax disk, many drivers and car owners find it convenient to pop in to the local Post Office to do it. They can continue to do so.
"I am sure Post Offices in Carshalton and Wallington will do their best to deliver great service to our motorists."
The renewed deal will become effective from the spring.
