The MP for Sutton and Cheam and the manager of Waitrose in Worcester Park presented six cheques to local charities.

The presentation with Paul Burstow and Andy Goodman took place at Waitrose on Friday, January 25, and was part of the supermarket’s monthly Community Matters scheme.

Branches donate £1,000 per month which is divided proportionally between three nominated local organisations.

Mr Goodman said: “It is great to build a relationship with local charities and I look forward to supporting them in the future.”

Mr Burstow added: “It’s during tough times like these that charities do their most valuable work, but it’s during these same times donations often fall.

"If you can spare money or time, please get in touch with a local charity and offer to help make a real difference in our community.”
