A 22-year-old man has been arrested after another man was attacked outside a pub in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police were called to an incident at the Prince Regent pub in Sutton High Street near the junction with Bushey Road at around 1.15am.

Officers arrived to find a 42-year-old man lying on the ground. He was taken to hospital for treatment to cuts and bruises on his head and kept in overnight.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man and charged him with affray on Sunday. He is due to appear in front of Croydon magistrates on Monday, February 18.
