Smoke from kitchen fire blackens flat
Smoke from a kitchen fire blackened an entire flat yesterday.
Firefighters were called to the blaze in Spencer Court, Leatherhead, at about 5.30pm.
A spokesman at Leatherhead fire station said: "When they went in wearing breathing apparatus it was smoke logged.
"All the walls were black. It was a small fire in the kitchen."
Firefighters put out the fire and returned back to the station by 8.20pm.
