A 15-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after a teenager was stabbed at Arena tram stop.

British Transport Police have now arrested seven people in connection with the incident on Tuesday, February 5.

The 15-year-old boy, from Addiscombe, has been charged with attempted murder, possessing an offensive weapon and common assault, appeared initially at Croydon Youth Court on Saturday.

Five others have been released on police bail until early March. They include a 16-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl, a 14-year-old girl, an 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man.

A 15-year-old boy of no fixed address was arrested in connection with the incident on Tuesday February 19 and remains in custody.

Detectives had issued a public appeal for information following the stabbing, which took place shortly before 7.45pm on the Elmers End-bound platform of the station.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
