VIDEO: Fascinating film archives of Sutton through the decades
4:10pm Wednesday 20th February 2013 in News By James Pepper
A new calendar featuring scenes from the borough's past has been launched.
The online desktop calendar has been produced by London's Screen Archives and will show a 60 second clip of archive film each week throughout 2013.
A video of a carnival going through Sutton in 1933 is featured as well as clips called The Life Boys and Bathrooms in St Helier.
Councillor Jill Whitehead, chairwoman of the environment and neighbourhood committee said: "The Sutton Archives hold a wealth of fantastic local history images and footage and this is a great way to present these to a wider audience.
The calendar has been produced in partnership between London’s Screen Archives and Sutton Archives.
