Sutton Life Centre to show Dickens film
12:00pm Thursday 28th February 2013 in News By Mike Pyle
Dickens will be brought to Life at special events held this week and next.
Sutton Life Centre is to host special showings of an all-star production of Charles Dickens' David Copperfield tomorrow and next Friday.
The film, which features Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe and Downton Abbey's Maggie Smith is part of a season of Dickens-themed events put on by the Sutton Life Centre Friends' Group.
Last week the group hosted a talk about the world-famous author entitled the London of Charles Dickens which attracted around 60 people.
Councillor Graham Tope, chairman of the Sutton Life Centre Friends Group, said: "The Friends of the Life Centre do a great deal of work to put on community events that can be enjoyed across the ages.
"This is a great opportunity for families to get together and enjoy a piece of classic British literature brought to life on the big screen."
Showings will start at 7pm and will cost £2 per person which also includes a soft drink and popcorn. To book tickets call the library on 020 8644 9696 or email slc@sutton.gov.uk.
