A woman is in critical condition after falling from the 9th floor of a building.

Police were called yesterday (March 3) morning at 9.30 am to reports of an injured woman at Dunsfold Court, off Copse Hill, Brighton Road, Sutton.

The woman, 38, had fallen onto the wooden roof of a bin cupboard and suffered a broken neck, ruptured spleen and collapsed lung.

She was unconscious but breathing when police arrived and is now in a critical condition in hospital.

The medical helicopter landed in Cavendish Road and the woman was taken to hospital by road by London Ambulance Service.

Officers are not treating the incident as suspicious at this stage.

Next of kin are aware.
