False gunman alarm closes down two roads in Wallington

Reports of a man with a gun in Wallington last night
Reports of a gun-toting man caused police to close two roads and launch a search in Wallington last night.
A 44-year-old man was arrested inside a property in Beddington Gardens, Wallington, on suspicion of possessing a firearm in a public place and for possession of a class B drug.
Beddington Gardens and Woodcote Road in Wallington were closed for 20 minutes at around 9.30pm last night while the operation took place.
The police forced entry but no weapon was found. Enquiries are continuing.
