Sutton MPs Tom Brake and Paul Burstow field career advice questions from Carshalton College students
9:00am Sunday 17th March 2013 in News By Mike Pyle
MPs have been sharing their experience with young people trying to find work in their constituencies.
Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake and Sutton MP Paul Burstow sat on a panel at Carshalton College's youth employment conference.
Students were given the opportunity to ask the panel about their experiences of finding work.
Mr Brake said: "It was a pleasure to take part in the conference.
"I hope that those who attended found it informative and helpful. It is great to see initiatives like this aimed at helping young people in Sutton.
"Young people are a fount of innovation and ideas. Their energy and enthusiasm must be harnessed to build a stronger and fairer economy in Sutton.
"Many of the questions directed at the panel were on the career advice available to young people.
It is clear that young people don’t expect charity, but guidance. They deserve to be given a chance in these difficult economic times."
The event was part of Sutton Careers Fair, organised by Sutton Council and Carshalton College.
