A teenage actor accused of raping a 14-year-old boy in a theatre told a court the pair only engaged in consensual sex acts.

The south London actor, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of dragging his alleged victim to a stairwell before performing a sex act on him in 2010. He is also alleged to have raped the boy in the stairwell the following day while his girlfriend blocked the door.

The actor, now 17, is on trial at Blackfriars Crown Court, accused of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault between July and September 2010. The actor denies the charges.

Giving evidence yesterday and this morning, the defendant admitted he and the alleged victim did engage in sex acts at the theatre but told the jury they were consensual.

Earlier in the trial, which started on Monday, the alleged victim told the jury the defendant physically assaulted him and performed sex acts on him against his will. The court was told the defendant wanted to prove he was bisexual to his girlfriend.

The trial continues.
