A series of self-portraits by people suffering from mental health illnesses have gone on display at a Croydon bar.

The 'Just Look at Me' exhibition was created by 25 patients from mental health groups Coast, Hear Us, Imagine, Mind and Elmwood.

The drawings, paintings and photographs in the exhibition are the result of a nine day workshop organised by arts group UnderCroydon.

The work reveals the hidden self of each artist and aims to raise awareness about people with mental illnesses, as well as dispelling some of the myths and stigmas attached to such illnesses.

The exhibition which is on display at Half and Half bar was officially opened by Croydon Central MP Gavin Barwell on March 28.

The portraits will be on display until April 30.
