Fire tore through rubbish in a bin storage last night.
Firefighters from Purley fire station were called to the blaze behind a block of flats on Grove Lane, Purley, at 9.45pm.
The crew spent an hour down at the scene extinguishing the fire which caused considerable damage to the storage area.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
