Cheam village celebrated Easter in style.
Cheam parish churches held an Easter shop window competition challenging traders to come up with the best display in order to win a bottle of champagne.
Father Darren Miller from St Dunstan’s Church said: "We will celebrate Easter in Church - but we thought we would give a bottle of champagne to the best Easter shop window display in Cheam Village - sharing the ideas of hope and all things new.”
Cheam councillor Mary Burstow said: "Cheam traders really rose to the challenge.
"We had hot cross buns in the baker's window and giant Easter eggs in Cheam Kitchens and Bathrooms.
"The winner was The Clothes Rail who had hand drawn rabbits, Easter chicks and rainbows and put them in the shop window."
"We have much to be proud of in Cheam Village. We have many independant shops. When you visit - the traders are all welcoming and know you by name.
"You don't get that in an out of town shopping centre."
Children also made a traditional Easter garden at St Dunstan’s Church in Cheam.
Easter gardens have three essential features – a mound with at least one cross, a stone representing Jesus’ tomb and lots of greenery and flowers.
