Thanks to all who helped on the morning of Tuesday March 26, after getting off the S1 bus in St Nicholas Way. I had walked about 30 yards when I tripped and hit the concrete fence, hurting my shoulder.
I am an amputee so was unable to get up. The S1 bus pulled up and people got off to help me.
I was in great pain – I have since found out that I broke my shoulder – and as I lay there they called an ambulance.
A lady named Beverley stayed with me while a gentleman, Alister went to find my wife who I was meeting at Asda. The bus and some of the concerned passengers stayed for quite a while.
My wife arrived and a woman called Charlotte and her friend came from Debenhams with a coat and then went and then got foil covers.
A hospital transport pulled up and gave us a pillow and blankets. It was very cold.
Another lady rang to find out where the ambulance was – it eventually arrived after 45 minutes.
The ambulance crew were great, as was my treatment at St Helier Hospital.
I think my experience proves that our public are great, and I thank everybody involved.
