I must take issue with Tom Brake MP in his condemnation of Sutton Police reorganising their services. (article by Mike Pyle 28 March).
He states he "raises questions about Sutton Police's ability to tackle crime" and in respect of the closure of the facility at Crosspoint House as a "building that has seen a considerable amount of investment." Forgive me for laughing at this duplicitous double speak.
Is Tom Brake not a member of the Government that has imposed sweeping cuts to the public services, that require and insist that public servants, such as our Police, have to reduce costs? He wants to continue to oppose the plans put forward by local commanders but insists that money is still saved, how? Is this not typical of our current politicians insisting on one standard whilst taking away the means to deliver it?
