A summer celebration of all things food and drink is set to return to Hampton Court for the fifth year running.

In past years the Foodies Festival has seen visitors flock to feast on dishes from around the world, sip drinks in the sunshine, picnic in the park and enjoy culinary activities.

Top chefs will cook up signature dishes live in the chefs’ theatre and explain how visitors can create the meals at home.

This year chefs include Ed Baines of Randall and Aubin, TV’s Gennaro Contaldo of Two Greedy Italians, Gary Lee of The Ivy and winner of Masterchef 2012 Shelina Permalloo.

Contaldo says: “I am so excited about being at foodies this year and about getting to meet all the wonderful people who visit the festivals.

“The atmosphere is always fantastic and it’s brilliant to be able to celebrate all the incredible restaurants and amazing chefs we have in the UK.”

New elements to the festival include a bake along theatre, where visitors can whip up their own creations under the watchful eye of cake makers.

Those with a sweet tooth will also be treated to a dedicated chocolate theatre that will showcase the world of chocolate and confectionery.

Lovers of al fresco dining can enjoy a barbecue arena and wine connoisseurs can sip on a glass from the wine village, which will bring together producers from wine regions across the world.

Last year’s successful mixology cocktail classes will return, alongside all other regular stalls including mouth watering produce at the market, the street food avenue, and kids’ cookery events.

After all that food and drink, visitors can rest their weary feet on deckchairs by the beach installation and enjoy live music acts on stage including Gloria Miller.
