A talk is to take place on a new 'Energy from Waste' technology campaigners believe could be an alternative to the Beddington incinerator.
With a decision on the incinerator due later this month, residents are invited to learn about an alternative processing technology.
It claims to be 100 percent green, process 100 percent of household waste, while leaving no residue and generating enough energy to power Croydon.
A presentation will take place tomorrow at Matthews Yard on Friday April 12, by host Jason Grant and the inventor of the technology Philip Hall will also be at the event to answer questions.
A decision on whether to build the energy recovery facility (ERF) in Beddington Lane will be made by Sutton Council on Wednesday, April 24.
The plans, submitted by waste management company Viridor under contract from the South London Waste Partnership, made up of Sutton, Croydon, Merton and Kingston-upon-Thames.
The plant will take household rubbish from the four boroughs and burn it to create heat and energy for homes in the area around the site in Beddington and Hackbridge.
