A man has been sentenced to 60 hours unpaid work and must pay £160 compensation after his Alsation twice attacked a woman in the street.
Trevor Mash, 48, of St Benet's Grove, Carshalton, pleaded guilty to having a dog dangerously out of control in a public place causing injury on April 3 at Croydon Magistrates Court.
The victim was treated for cuts, bruises and puncture wounds.
Mash told police his five-year-old dog, named Kai, which must now wear a muzzle, became spooked in the darkness by a woman carrying an umbrella.
