Epsom's MP dropped in on a local charity on Monday to hand over a donation and take part in its social activities.

Chris Grayling went to the Kites Social Club to pass over the £175 from Sainsbury's in Ewell Village.

The donation was for the Sunnybank Trust, which supports people with learning disabilities, including the club.

During the visit to St Barnabas' Church in Temple Road, Epsom, Mr Grayling chatted with volunteers and members and took part in a session of Makaton, a special form of sign language.

He said: "The Sunnybank Trust is a really great community-based group that makes a real difference to the lives of people who have got some really significant challenges.

"It's a warmly place, it's a fun group - and the trust does hugely important work."

The group, which meets twice a week at the church provides a range of social activities and services for its members, including a cafe, basic cookery and artwork classes.
