Two pink floral trees will be rooted in Hersham as part of a sponsored planting programme.
To mark Waitroses' 75th anniversary in partnership with John Lewis, Hersham Green will benefit from the programme with two cornus kousa stellar pink trees.
The planting will take place on April 20 at 10am, under the watchful eyes of the mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor Janet Turner, the Hersham in Bloom group, Waitrose representatives and members of Elmbridge Council’s green spaces team.
Coun Turner said: “We are very grateful for the support Waitrose have given us and are equally proud of our partnership with Hersham in Bloom who are doing such a wonderful job to improve their local environment through their fantastic planting scheme.
“We hope the local community will enjoy looking at the trees in bloom and at the sensory garden which has now matured enough to stimulate the senses such as sight, touch, smell and sound.”
