Sutton & Cheam Swimming Clun enjoyed a successful end to the Surrey Championships winning two more medals.

The boys age 12-13 4x50m team of Tomas Gibson, Michael Rees, Adam Smith and William Ward had a double success when they took silver in the medley relay and bronze in the freestyle relay, where just over half a second separated the top three places.

The boys U16 4x100m freestyle team of Nathan Eves, Joe Phillpott-Clark, Samuel Rees and Alex Wimbush excelled themselves with a fourth place finish and Joe, Samuel and Alex were joined by William Ward to finish in eighth place in the medley event.

The girls age 9-11 4x50m team of Erin Andrew, April Hedges, Alice Nicot and Imogen Smith put in a solid performance to finish sixth in their medley relay and eighth in their freestyle relay.

Natalie Andrew, Lois Martin, Daisy Meffan and Lucy Pearson put in a battling performance in the age 12-13 4x50m relay team of to come 11th in their medley relay and 14th in their freestyle event.

The boys age 9-11 4x50m medley team of Toby Beer, Jack Conroy, Greg Gilbride and Jack Wild finished 18th in their event and Jack, Greg and Jack were joined by Oliver Bayliss to finish 19th in the freestyle relay.

With a total of 33 medals over the entire Championships and finishing eighth in the medals table, the club’s coaches were very pleased with their swimmers performances and are now looking forward to the regional events in May and June.
