Friends of a man killed in a helicopter crash marked his 40th birthday with a heavy metal evening.
Popular DJ, Matthew Wood, 39, from Sutton, was killed in the Vauxhall crash as he made his way to work in January this year.
It would have been his 40th birthday last Thursday and his friends decided to celebrate his life and love of metal music at The Ship in Croydon on Saturday.
They wore specially made t-shirts with images of Matthew on them and held a raffle to raise money for a trust fund for his nephew.
His sister, Amanda Wood, said there was lots of head-banging and added: "I think they were great t-shirts.
"Matthew would have been pleased with the turnout it was a fab night."
His family and friends also held a get-together at the Old Bank in Sutton on Friday.
