Richmond Council is looking for input from residents to help restore two Teddington parks to their former glory.

The council is proposing a series of improvements to Elmfield Park and Jubilee Gardens to include new bike stands, planting trees and replacements for the benches and bins.

The 30-year-old gardens have become overgrown and obscured and Councillor Virginia Morris said the parks would benefit from a revamp.

She said: “Both of these gardens are right on our high streets, we walk past them every day - some people might not even know they are there.

“I hope that with these improvements we would be able to restore these gardens back to their former glory and make them an active part of our everyday lives.”

A consultation begins on April 12 and residents are being urged to provide their views online.

Coun Morris, member for the environment, said: “I hope that residents support these proposals, and I look forward to see people enjoying these local gardens, right on their high street.”
