Thousands of foodies ventured up Box Hill for a food festival despite strong wind and rain on Saturday.

Morris dancers, food producers and caterers were joined by Ashtead's Four Gables Food Academy for the festival in Donkey Green at the top.

Marvellous Mole Valley 'Food With A View' served up a feast of food and drink as well as entertainment and talks.

Organiser Councillor Caroline Salmon, chairman of Mole Valley Council, said: "There must have been two thousand people over the course of the day.

"The majority came in the morning when it was still fairly bright and the marquee was packed, but the weather did close in around lunchtime and some of the stallholders with gazebos had to hang on to their stock to prevent it from blowing away.

"In spite of this, everyone had a tremendous time."

Profits from the show and raffle will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
