An amateur historian is hoping to trace the other half of a unique collection of photographs from the 1950s.

Ian Rawat is trying to piece together the collection of George Herbert, put is missing a few key pictures which he believes have been sold by accident.

Mr Rawat said: "The two called London split pair have been sold separately by mistake - I was hoping anyone who bought them might see the article and come forward so I could buy, or copy the missing halves.

The pictures called 'book' and 'On the rocks' are of his daughter Beatrice who lived until 100 years of age in the same family home at 9 Gander Green Lane."

According to Mr Rawat, most of the photos in the collection are not taken in the borough, but there are about 6-8 of his time in the Sutton Civil Defence in the Second World War.
