Police are searching for the owners of stolen jewellery found in a car involved in a spate of Wimbledon burglaries.

The Audi estate was stopped by Thames Valley Police on the M40 in Oxfordshire on Wednesday, April 3, after it was identified as being involved in three burglaries earlier the same day at addresses in Avondale Road in Wimbledon, Wydell Close in Morden and Buckleigh Avenue in Wimbledon Chase.

Four men were arrested and charged with conspiracy to burgle on April 5.

A 29-year-old was remanded in custody while a 19-, 26- and 18-year-old were bailed with all set to appear at Kingston Crown Court on April 19.

Despite enquiries police have been unable to reunite the stolen jewellery with its owners and are now appealing for help in tracing them.

Anyone with information should call detectives on 07919 690416 or Wimbledon CID on 101.
