Firefighters had to climb on a roof to fight a fire in a blocked chimney last night.
Leatherhead firefighters were called to the fire in a house in Oakhill Close, Ashtead, just before 9pm.
A fire station spokesman said they used a roof ladder to get to the chimney and the fire was near the top.
He said: "It was a normal open fire but the chimney was really blocked. They hadn’t had the chimney cleaned for a long, long time."
