A pastor who worked in India for seven years has been welcomed to a church in Wimbledon as its newest minister.
Robin Weekes took over as minister of Emmanuel Church in Ridgeway on Sunday following the retirement of Jonathan Fletcher, who had held the post for the past 30 years.
Rev Weekes previously served at the church as a curate from 1999 to 2003 before moving to India to work as a pastor in Delhi.
He returned to the UK in 2010, where he worked as a tutor.
More than 350 people packed the church for a service to welcome him back, led by the Rt Rev Dr Richard Cheetham, Bishop of Kingston.
