An investigation into the theft of £31,000 worth of school equipment stolen has been closed by Kingston police.

Coombe Girls' School in Clarence Avenue, New Malden, was burgled during a late night heist on Sunday, February 10.

Windows were broken into and 18 Apple iMacs, 10 tripods, six camcorders and nine hard drives with saved works were just some of the stolen items.

GCSE and A Level students had been working on their final year media studies courseworks at the time of the burglary and were given extensions on their hand in dates.

A spokesman from Kingston police said: "All lines of investigation have been concluded.

"At this stage the investigation has been closed pending further evidence coming to light. No arrests have been made."

The school has now had all of its media equipment replaced.
