A dad is appealing for help finding his dog that sleeps at the bottom of his disabled daughter’s bed.

Eray Ali’s Staffordshire bull terrier, Leo, went missing from his garden in Park Lane, Carshalton, on Sunday evening.

The family fears he might have been stolen because he is too scared to leave the house without Mr Ali.

As soon as Mr Ali realised Leo was missing at 10.30pm he went out to look for him and did not return home until 5am – going out again soon afterwards to speak to local dog walkers.

Mr Ali has gone to the police, the Riverside Animal Centre in Beddington and Battersea Dogs Home but no-one has seen him.

He said: “I’ve had him for a year and a half. He was abandoned in the bike shed where I live.

“My daughter’s got cerebral palsy and [Leo] sleeps at the bottom of her bed – he loves her to death.

“My daughter says ‘I love Leo’ and she’s looking for him to come back.

“He won’t leave by himself. He’s too scared to. If I go out the house he will sit by the back gate until I come back.

“My partner has to say ‘come on Leo come inside’ otherwise he will sit there outside and wait for me to come back. He’s lovely.”

Leo is sandy brown with a white chest and chin. He is described a friendly, family dog.

If you have seen Leo call Mr Ali on 079 5723 8145.
