Young runners from Richmond put in a ground-breaking performance in the London mini-marathon, coming second of the 33 London boroughs.
The mini-marathon takes place on the final three miles of the London marathon route, just before the thousands of adult runners begin to go through their paces.
Councillor Pamela Fleming, cabinet member for business, community and culture, said: “Once again this is a fantastic performance by the young people of our borough and we should be very proud of them.
“They did superbly well to achieve overall second spot. They really are top performers with a hugely successful future ahead of them.”
This year’s Richmond’s mini-marathon squad scored a top-10 place in every category, against tough competition from other London boroughs.
