Work is underway on the next stage of a multi-million street improvement project.

The refurbishment scheme for Clapham Junction centre will see St John's Road enhanced with granite paving, improved lighting and new street furniture.

Work is being completed in sections to minimise disruption, with work expected to take place until March next year.

It is hoped the work will create a more pedestrian friendly town centre and to help business.

The council are urging pedestrians and cyclists to take care when passing through St John's Road while the work take place.

A diagonal pedestrian crossing was introduced at the junction of St John's Hill and Lavender Hill as an earlier part of the project.

The project is being funded through a ring fenced transport grant, with support from Transport for London and the Clapham Junction Town Centre Partnership.
