A summer of outdoor activities is ahead to help people appreciate the environment.

This month saw the launch of EcoLocal’s Healthy Sutton Outdoors scheme which will provide outdoor activities like cycling and allotment sessions for people who would like to get a bit fitter, feel healthier and happier.

Deputy director of the environmental social enterprise, Tansy Honey, said: "All our activities are sociable, friendly and a chance to get some fresh air. Our cycling and gardening sessions are just like a Green Gym, giving you healthy exercise, and are also great for people who are stressed or isolated."

Speaking at one of the recent inclusive cycling sessions at Sutton Arena, George Conroy, said: "We like it here because there's no traffic, and at our age we’re a little bit wobbly on a bike. It's good to get out on a day like this, you don’t want to be stuck indoors."
