The woman was rescued near Battersea Bridge
A woman is fighting for her life after she was rescued from the River Thames.
Police officers from the Marine Support Unit and a police helicopter were called to Battersea Bridge just before 12.30pm.
The woman, in her 20s, was recovered from the water and sent to a West London hospital.
Her injuries are described as life threatening.
Twitter users posted comments online as the scene unfolded.
One Twitter user, Connor Grieve, said: "Just watched someone jump off Battersea Bridge."
Another, The Prophet Ivey, said: "So.. Someone just tried commit suicide on Battersea Bridge."
