Friends of an Epsom pub and nightclub are organising an annual charity football match and fun-day to raise funds for the Royal Brompton and Royal Marsden hospitals.

The events, sponsored by the Marquis of Granby and the Boogie Lounge, are in memory of Miguel Lombardo and Elio Ciesco, who both lived in Epsom.

Miguel was diagnosed with leukaemia at 19 and lost his battle to cancer, aged 23.

Elio suffered from a rare heart condition all his life and died several months after he got married, never meeting his unborn son.

The football match kicks off at 1pm on Sunday, May 26, at the Weston Green sports club, Thames Ditton, and is followed by a fun afternoon at the Marquis of Granby in West Street, Epsom, starting at 3.30pm.

There will be food stalls, a bouncy castle, a tombola and a raffle, an auction and bingo.

The organisers hope to raise £4,000.
