Thousands of children and families took part in a colourful procession and fayre to celebrate May on Saturday.
The Walton-on-the-Hill May Pageant began with procession including a tractor, fire engine, motorcycles, horses, marching band and children in fancy dress.
Greta Prince, 11, from Walton-on-the-Hill Primary School, was crowned as May Queen after arriving in a horse-drawn carriage at the arena in Howard Close.
Celebrations then got underway with maypole dancing, a dog show, Zumba dancing, terrier racing, pony rides and other amusements.
Ann Liddle, publicity manager for the pageant, said about 4,000 people joined in the festivities.
Ms Liddle said: “It was fabulous. There was a lovely atmosphere and good community spirit.”
The pageant raised money for a fund set up in the memory of cyclist John Ibbotson, Age Concern Banstead and Walton-on-the-Hill Primary School.
The theme of the day was Fables and Fairytales.
