A dopey commuter has been ordered to pay £245 after being caught with a single cannabis joint.
Ola Oladeru, from Lodge Road, Croydon, was sniffed out by a police drugs dog at Clapham Junction station on Monday, May 13.
The 32-year-old was standing near the ticket machines in the station when a cocker spaniel suddenly sat down next to him.
Not realising the animal was a drugs dog, Oladeru started patting it, until its handler, a plain-clothed police officer, suddenly accosted him.
Speaking at South-West Magistrates Court on Thursday, the defendant's lawyer Paul Green said his client had been guilty of a "minor offence".
The Croydon College student, who is studying graphic design, was fined £150, because it was the third time he had been caught with a joint, and ordered to pay costs £85.
